| six slow miles. Hip started hurting pretty good at 5 miles. Felt decent with a slight dull ache before then.

| ran 6 on the TM in Cabo. Hip felt a bit achy. Decided to see how a faster pace would feel on the hip. Turns out it makes it hurt faster. Last mile was a 6:50.

| A guy in my neighborhood is running one of those spartan races and hasn't been very consistent at running. He wanted someone to start running with and I told him I could go out with him. He said he runs about a 12 min mile and is in bad shape for running but has been lifting a lot. I agreed to go out with him and keep it slow, should be good for my hip at least to slowly build back up miles with slower pace.
We did a 4 mile run that almost killed him. We averaged a 10 min mile and then I decided to do 2 more miles afterwards a bit quicker to see how my hip would react. My hip felt pretty decent the entire time. A little achey but not overly painful. Last 2 miles were at closer to 8 min pace.

| 6 slow miles. 4 with Rex (neighbor) out and back along Wasatch Blvd and then 2 loops in my neighborhood to test out how the hip would feel. The hip felt good for the first 4 miles, but then it got a little more achey on the next 2 miles. It wasn't super painful or hindering to me, but still enough of an annoyance that it kept my attention.

| 6.25 slow hilly miles. Ran from my house up big cottonwood canyon for a bit and then turned around and came back up to my house, with some loops in the hood. Hip felt good today, so that is promising.

| 6.25 slow and lonely miles today. Just weaved up and down my neighborhood. My hip felt totally fine until about mile 4 and then it started acting up a bit. I hope I can get this thing figured out soon.

| cross training.
Was given a copy of the Iron Strength workout DVD that was put out by Dr. Metzlr and runners world. Let's just say I am much weaker than I realized. It does a bunch of plyometrics and very low weights for some upper body work. Really gets the legs and abs burning and the heart rate up. I will try this 2 days a week and see if it will help with my hip and running overall.

| 6.25 slow miles. Legs were crazy sore from the cross training. Took about a mile to get my legs feeling decent. Hip felt good until mile 5 then I noticed a little ache. My not have noticed the ache in the hip due to both legs aching pretty good throughout.

| 7.1 total today. Ran 5 slow with my neighbor and then 2.1 quicker miles solo. New shoes felt great and my hip felt the best that it has in a while.

Ran 1 while I waited for my neighbor then did 5 with him. Hip feels decent. I still get a bit of an ache after a few miles but it isn't getting worse. Hope that means it is getting better.
