Ran solo around the neighborhood. It was nice to have it so warm and so light outside today. My big toe started hurting like I was getting an ingrown toenail. Will have to turn into a surgeon tonight and fix that.

It was a nice cool morning with very light snow falling. My neighbor came and ran extra slow so I just did lots of loops around him as we ran our usual route. He did 5 miles and I got in 7 with all the back and forth.

Had planned to go 8 today but just didn't get by butt out of bed in time. So I punished myself by running 2 tempo miles. Avg pace on tempo was 6:40ish. 1st mile was mainly downhill and second mile was a pretty good mix that ended with a long up along the Cottonwood Heights 5k course. Felt good throughout with no hip, knee, or toe pain.

Was on a cruise all week in the Bahamas and didn't really feel like I had time to run as we were in port and doing fun stuff. This day was a day at sea so we went to the gym on the ship and ran on the TM. Was going to do 6 miles but got bored and was sweating so bad after mile 1 that I just wanted to be done. Did 2 fast miles (6:45, 6:27), but they were on a treadmill so I am not sure how that translates to the road. Felt nice and easy at sea level.

Ran the slowest 11 miles of my life with my neighbor. I tried to convince him that instead of waking up super early he just needed to run faster. He said, "these are quantity miles, not quality miles". I said they could be both and we could both sleep in a little longer. I don't think he cared too much.

My neighbor is wanting to run 10 miles 3 times a week until Christmas because his wife will buy him a Garmin Fenix 3 if he hits 500 miles by then. I know he will not make it to the 500 mark by Christmas but it gives me a chance to increase my mileage. The caveat is he runs super slow.

Today I just did a lot of out and backs as he ran the ten mile course we had planned. I ended up with 2.5 miles more than him. He added an extra mile for fun. I decided to run a quick mile on a flatish section of Wasatch (actually had a good chunk of uphill) since my legs were feeling tired. It actually felt better to run faster (6:40).

Ran solo this morning so I decided to run up LCC and down the back side and then along Wasatch back home. Didn't plan on pushing any pace but ended up with 3 faster miles (avg 6:52). Legs were feeling tire from the beginning so I was glad to be able to hang on for 3 faster miles.

Also was pleased that it didn't take me 1:45 min to run 8 miles like it usually does when my neighbor comes with me.

Woke up several times during the night with the feeling of vomits coming. Never did throw up and never felt much better. Went out anyways. 2 miles in, I thought I was about to lose it. That feeling was short lived. Made it to the finish and didn't feel any better or any worse. Still feel a bit naseous. Glad to get in the miles. Also, it was freezing out there this morning. My hands were numb from about mile 3 on.

Went out late and ran to the park to see if my ward was still there playing football. played a few series of football and then just ran laps around the park while subbing in and out of the turkey bowl. Then ran home to help prepare some food for the big feast.
