Today the bed monster had a good firm grip on me. I didn't feel like getting out and pounding the pavement. Then when I finally dragged my butt out of bed and got dressed, my wife is making pancakes. It smelled incredible and I was hungry. I refrained from eating and slowly put on my shoes trying to think of a reason to not get out and run. Then I got out and the first mile was tough mentally. I just wanted to lay back down after a late night. Then I decided to just go kick my own butt by choosing a really hilly route. After about 4 miles of hills my attitude changed and I was super happy to be out running. Glad I got in the run today.

Ran up to Mt. Dude with Brayden and James. I am not very experienced on the trails, but this was a fantastic run. The trail was perfect and everything is so lush and green right now. This rain has been doing its job. The view from up top was impressive. I am starting to enjoy the trail runs a bit.

Ran from my house up Big Cottonwood Canyon while the Vigor Half marathon/10k/5k races were coming down. Ran about 1/4 mile past Storm Mountain and found my step mom running the race so I joined her for about a mile and then I needed to get home so I clipped the next two miles off pretty quickly. Felt good to run fast again after not doing it much. Watching the runners in the race was fun and made me wish I was running the race.
that is all.

Did the usual Danish loop. Legs were a bit sore from Saturday's run but felt good to shake things out today.

Did my usual route through the neighborhood and then out and back on Wasatch. Ended up being a nice little progression run.

Did the LCC loop. Had been a while and wanted to change up my routes. I was wanting to get some speedier miles on the way back down and across Wasatch, but I couldn't get my legs to go. Was happy to just be out and feeling good at 7:30 pace for a bit.

Ran pipline with James. It was a great morning on the trail until we had about 3-4 miles to go. The rain started coming down harder and harder and the winds picked up and it got freezing cold. At one point we stopped to look at the rain and it was just sheets of rain coming down. Not sure I have ever felt that cold during a run in a long time. Still enjoyed it

Met up with James and Hille and ran a nice loop around Holladay. Always better to run with company and now that James is closer, I suspect the lonley runs will be fewer and fewer.

Met up with James and Hille to run a nice loop south through Holladay. It was a great morning and felt good to keep a nice consistent pace around 7:30 /mile.

Did 6 miles with James and Hille again. Then added 2 more with James after Hille had to go to work. Nice and easy. This running weather is fantastic!

Met at James' house and ran North for a bit then East for a bit. Then meandered South for a while and then back to his house. I didn't ever feel great on this run. Was pretty fatigued most of the time and really faded in the last mile. I tried to keep pace for the last few miles but was struggling. I think it was a combo of higher mileage, faster paces, and eariler mornings that I have been doing on my own. Should be good for me, right?

Met James and Hille and ran a nice 10 miles through Millcreek and Holladay. Lungs were heavy and my voice has been slipping a bit. I haven't had a sore throat, but I am congested a bit and could definitely feel it today.
